Acne and Acne Scars
Acne is a common disorder affecting the hair follicle and sebaceous glands, in which there is expansion and blockage of the follicle and inflammation.
Pigmentation
Melasma is a chronic skin disorder that results in symmetrical blotchy, brownish facial pigmentation.
Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterised by well defined red and scaly plaques (thickened skin).
Vitiligo
Vitiligo is an acquired depigmenting disorder of the skin, in which pigment cells (melanocytes) are lost. It presents with well-defined milky-white patches of skin (leukoderma).
Fungal infections
“Tinea” refers to a skin infection with a dermatophyte fungus (ringworm). It is a very itchy condition which often spreads to multiple people living in the same household.
Urticaria
Urticaria is characterised by wheals (hives) or angioedema or both. The wheals may last for a few minutes to 24 hours. It is usually very itchy.
Body and Nails
Eczema or Dermatitis
Acute eczema (or dermatitis) refers to a rapidly evolving red rash which may be blistered and swollen. Chronic eczema refers to a longstanding irritable area which often becomes darker than the surrounding skin, thickened and much scratched.
Excessive Sweating
Hyperhydrosis is the name given to excessive and uncontrollable sweating. It can affect the armpits, palms, soles, face or other sites. Triggers to attacks of sweating may include hot weather, exercise, fever, anxiety, spicy food.
Acnathosis Nigricans
Acanthosis Nigricans is a skin disorder characterised by darkening and thickening of the skin, occuring mainly in the folds of the skin in the armpits, groin and back of the neck.
Pyoderma
Painful, red lumps, usually occurring on the hairy areas which may ooze and discharge pus. These are caused by bacterial infections in the skin.
Nail Psoriasis
Psoriasis can sometimes affect the nails. It is important to consult a Dermatologist for such cases. It may be associated with joint pain.
Fungal infection of nails
Fungal infections involving the nails are known as onychomycosis. The nails become yellowish, brittle and may sometimes become painful.
Hair
Hair Fall
There may be many causes of hair fall like iron deficiency, stress, biotin deficiency, genetics etc. It may also occur following certain illnesses.

Dandruff
Dandruff is a condition that mainly affects the scalp. Symptoms include flaking and sometimes mild itchiness. This condition may worsen in winter. It can result in social or self esteem problems.
Androgenetic Alopecia
AGA is characterised by receding hairline and hair loss, mainly from the top and front of the head in men, known as male pattern baldness. A similar type of hair loss in women, female pattern hair loss, results in thinning hair on the mid-frontal area of the scalp.
