Chemical Peel – Post Procedure Care
CHEMICAL PEEL – POST PROCEDURE CARE
- Strictly follow the advice given after the procedure.
- Use sunscreen regularly. For more information on how to apply sunscreens, visit.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and excessive heat. Try to remain indoors and seek shade between 10 am to 4 pm.
- Hydrate the skin adequately with a moisturiser during the period after doing a chemical peel.
- Do not put makeup for next 12 hours.
- You may use only eye and lip makeup for the next 4-5 days.
- Do not wash your face until the next morning (unless you have been told otherwise).
- Wash your face with a gentle cleanser the week following the chemical peel.
- After the peeling procedure, the skin may feel tighter. There may be mild redness and/or flaking of the skin. These are expected outcomes.
- The skin may begin to peel off after 2 to 3 days. Sometimes, there may be darkening of the skin after the chemical peel. This is a normal part of the process. It will lighten eventually but may stay that way for up to two weeks. Your skin may continue to flake for a week as well (and sometimes up to two weeks if we do a strong one)!
- If there is excessive redness or any discomfort, please splash cold water and call us for further assistance.
- For the next 7 days: Do not get undergo any other procedures like Botox, Fillers, Bleaching, Facials etc.
- Discontinue use of products containing Retinoids, AHAs or BHAs for 7 days before and after the chemical peel.
- If you are using any OTC lightening, anti-acne or anti-ageing creams – please discontinue for the next 7 days and check with us whether it is to be continued or not.
